How much does a website cost? +
Our website packages start at R2,500 for a 1-3 page custom static site, R3,000 on WordPress and R4,000 as a custom CMS with its own admin area. Online stores start at R7,000 on WordPress and R8,500 as a custom CMS store. Every quote is based on what your business actually needs, so you only pay for what you use. How long does a website take to build? +
It depends on the size of the project and how quickly content and feedback come in. We confirm the timing once we know the scope. The sooner we have your content and feedback, the sooner your site goes live.
Do you offer hosting? +
Yes. We provide fast local hosting from R99/month, plus annual .co.za and .com domain hosting. Hosting with us means your site stays quick, secure and looked after by the same team that built it.
Can you help my site rank on Google? +
Every site we build includes the on-page basics: page titles, meta descriptions and a clean heading structure. Ongoing SEO is a separate service: Monthly SEO Maintenance (R850/month), or SEO Rescue (R2,500) for sites that have dropped in rankings. No honest agency can guarantee a position on Google.
Will I be able to update the site myself? +
On a WordPress or custom CMS site, yes: you get an admin area to update your pages, images and posts. A custom static site has no admin area, so changes are made in the code, by you if you are comfortable with that, or by us at our website maintenance rate of R450 an hour. A handover guide or walkthrough can be added to your quote.
Do you work with businesses outside Cape Town? +
We are Cape Town based but work with businesses across South Africa and beyond. Everything can be handled remotely by phone, email and WhatsApp. Clients outside South Africa pay our published rand prices plus a 15% international allowance, which covers cross-border payment, currency conversion and bank fees, and order through a quote.
What do you need from me to get started? +
Just an idea of what you want your website to do, plus any branding, logos and content you have. If you are starting from scratch, we will guide you through every step.
How do I pay? +
You can order packages through our shop and pay by card through Yoco, or pay by EFT (bank transfer) or PayPal: request a quote or contact us and we will send you the details. All prices are in South African rand (ZAR).
What is the difference between Monthly SEO and SEO Rescue? +
Monthly SEO is an ongoing maintenance service at R850/month that keeps your rankings healthy over time. SEO Rescue is a once-off R2,500 service for sites that have dropped in rankings and need to recover. Every site we build already has SEO built in, so these services are for businesses wanting extra dedicated support.
Do you build online stores in South Africa? +
Yes. Online stores start at R7,000 on WordPress and R8,500 as a custom CMS store, each with 10 products set up. Your store can take secure card payments through Yoco by default, or through PayFast, Peach Payments or Paystack if you prefer, and all prices are handled in South African Rand.
Do your prices include VAT? +
JWD Website Design is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added. The price shown is the price you pay.
How quickly do you reply? +
We aim to reply to enquiries fast during office hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 17:00 and Friday 08:00 to 16:00 (SAST).
How much does domain and hosting cost per year? +
Our fast local hosting starts at R99/month. For domains, .co.za hosting is R1,150/year and .com hosting is R1,300/year. Because we host the same sites we build, your website stays quick, secure and looked after by the team that knows it best.
