What “Custom WordPress Website” Means Here
A lot of WordPress sites in South Africa are a bought theme with the logo swapped in. That is quick, but it looks like every other business that bought the same theme, and it often loads slowly because the theme carries features you never use.
A custom WordPress website from us is different in three ways:
- The design starts from your business, not a theme demo. We plan the pages around what your customers need to know before they contact you, then design the layout, colours and type to match your brand.
- It is built on a page builder you can use. We build on Divi or Elementor, the two builders our portfolio runs on, so you can edit your own content visually after launch.
- It is set up for search from day one. Page titles, descriptions, headings, image alt text and a clean site structure are part of every build, so search engines and AI tools can understand what you offer.
If you want your team to update the site themselves, and you need a proven platform with a large pool of support behind it, WordPress is usually the right call.

Two other options if WordPress is more than you need
WordPress is one of three kinds of website we build, and it is not always the best value.
- A custom static website (from R2,500) is hand-built with no admin area, plugins or database. It is faster and needs far less upkeep than WordPress, but changes are made in the code, by you if you are comfortable with that or by us at our hourly rate. It suits businesses whose content rarely changes. There is no online store option.
- A custom CMS website (from R4,000) gives you your own admin area without a third-party theme or plugin stack, so there are no plugin licences to renew. It costs a little more than WordPress and needs hosting that can run it. Our hosting can; not every host can.

We agree the theme and plugins with you. Free ones are set up as part of the package; paid third-party themes, licences and plugins are not included, and we discuss any you need before we start.

How a WordPress Build Works With Us
The whole process runs online, so it works the same whether you are in Cape Town, Durban, Pretoria or overseas.
- Plan. We talk through your business, your customers and the pages you need, and agree the scope and price before work starts.
- Design and build. We design the site, build it on WordPress, and share a private preview link so you can review it on your own phone and computer.

Keeping a WordPress Site Fast and Safe
WordPress itself is solid. What slows a WordPress site down or gets it hacked is usually what gets added over time: too many plugins, oversized images, a heavy theme, cheap hosting, and updates that nobody runs.
We build lean from the start, with only the plugins the site actually needs and images sized for the web. After launch, two things keep it healthy:
- Updates. WordPress, the theme and plugins all release updates, and outdated software is one of the common ways sites get compromised. Our website maintenance is charged at R450 an hour and agreed with you before any work starts.

When WordPress Is Not the Right Choice
We would rather tell you now than rebuild later. WordPress is a poor fit when your website is really an application: a booking system with deposits and cancellations, a portal where clients log in to see their own records, or a marketplace that pays several sellers. Those can be forced into WordPress with enough plugins, but they tend to become slow, fragile and expensive to maintain.
